This photo above really stood out to me in a couple ways. The main thing i liked about this picture was that it was taken locally in the bay area of the golden gate bridge. Another thing i liked about this picture is the detail and depth of the waves and the bridge in the background. The dark clouds also really bring out the red in the bridge.
This is another photo i also liked because it looks like something cool you would find in the middle of nowhere. Another thing i liked about this photo was that you can kinda see the sand being pulled back toward the ocean from the tide, which i thought was kinda cool. Also the sunset and the color of the sky looks really good in the backround.

-Born on July 22, 1882
- Lived in upper Nyack, New York
-Struggled for a long time before his art was put into museums
-Popularly known for his oil Paintings
-Died on may 15, 1967

This painting i really liked because it has this bold simplicity to it and it really caught my eye. Another reason why i like this painting is because when i look at it i think of a weekend getaway, it looks like somewhere you can go and just get away from all the city life and craziness. I also liked about this painting that its at sunset and you can see all the shadows on the house and from the bushes.
This is another painting by Edward Hopper that i also liked because it reminded me a lot of summer and being on vacation. Another thing i found interesting about this painting was that the house used in the painting above looks like the same house as the one in this picture just from another angle. I also liked how he painted the sky so it kinda fades lighter as it goes down, which really brings out the depth in the painting.

My Photos

I took this photo at castle rock(open space) in walnut creek. One of the reasons i liked this picture is because the trail looks as if it leads to the middle of nowhere. Also I liked the color in this photo, there all mostly natural colors like different shades of greens and tans. I was actually lost when i took this photo and we knew that wasn't one of the ways back.
This is another picture i took also at castle rock. I liked this picture because you can see the open space but you can also see the city in the background. Another reason why i liked this photo was because of how clear it was outside, theres alot of depth like if you look past the city; you can even see the other mountains in the background.
